About Trisha
In the early 70s, at the age of 19, with freshly bleached hair and new white patent leather go-go boots, Trisha Mitchell packed up her "Miss Anniston" tiara and hopped on a train with her mentor, Miss Macy, headed to New York City for the biggest journey of her life.
With Miss Macy’s help, Trisha went to work as a model for Wilhelmina Modeling Agency. Her modeling career, which spanned ten years, took her around the world for photo shoots and designer runway shows. During her extensive travels, she discovered a love of art, fashion, and design.
Trisha eventually married, started a family, and raised three amazing sons in New York and Boston. Today her grown sons are accomplished in their careers in Art, Journalism, and the Music/Video Industry. Trisha proudly graduated in her mid-forties from Tuft’s University with a BFA and also studied at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Trisha moved back to New York City with her family after living in Boston for six years and began working as an interior designer and fine artist. She also began to write short stories about her life growing up in Alabama.
One of her stories, "Miss Macy," was recorded with The Moth radio on NPR in 2013. The story was heard by the actress Jean Smart in Los Angeles, where it played on a local radio station. The story is now set to become a feature film.
These days Trisha enjoys spending time outside in the Florida sun, which shines two hundred and sixty-four days a year.
